Research Plan
Lauren provides one-on-one research consultations with students as part of our Personalized Assistance with Searching (PAWS) service. She prepares for each appointment ahead of time by filling out a PAWS research plan template for the student so that they have something to take away with them and refer back to after the session. Shortly after starting, she began using printed post-it notes on the paper template form. She has recently updated the research plan template and turned it into an online format where the student and librarian can contribute to the document together during a consultation, using Microsoft Whiteboard, a visual collaboration canvas in Microsoft 365 for hybrid work and learning.
The template is flexible and can be modified to fit each appointment better.
Research Guide Design
Lauren's background as an art historian led her to be an art subject specialist at Sotheby's Institute of Art. She created several library research guides covering a variety of topics in the arts. Her guides are designed using side navigation for a better user experience. She customized the libraries' LibApps CMS sites to align with the Institute's style guide creating clean and easy-to-navigate pages. She also utilized assessment tools to interpret effectiveness of guides for updating and maitenence.
